Madeleine Jacinda – Daily Operations Manager.
Jacinda has finished her traineeship in Animal Studies at Wangaratta TAFE – through her VCAL year. Jacinda was awarded the regional apprentice of the year in 2006. Prior to starting her TAFE studies.
Jacinda completed a grooming course at Box Hill TAFE. Jacinda has a cat called “Delta” and two adored Labradors, Indie (pictured) and Sophie - they come to work each day and are part of the meet and greet crew.
Jacinda has taking on a bigger role in the kennels, leaving Madeleine more time to attend to customer needs and running the delivery and pickup service.
Jacinda’s infectious enthusiasm certainly helped us win the local 2009 Small Business Award.
Madeleine Madeleine has always had cats and dogs as part of her family since childhood. The kennels started in 2000.
It was Madeleine’s vision to create a boarding environment where all the dogs can be out of their pens during the day – in social groups to run and be free. The cattery is small in numbers – but large on space for each cat.
From the quality of the food to the blankets – all the comforts for your dog or cat are met.
Madeleine’s cat is Oscar the Burmilla and the dogs are Josie (Kelpie cross Poodle), Monty (Old GR) and Ben (pictured).
Maddy’s main job these days is in the office and taking care of the deliveries and pickups. There are quite a few trips as far as Melbourne to collect dogs for longer term stays.

Part-time staff

Madeleine Ann works here on Sundays. Ann is a real softy when it comes to dogs and cats. She has rescued and rehomed dogs at her own expense and time. Ann has a blind husky called Dakota that has 2 glass eyes. A three legged Maltese called Buffy and a previously dumped Cavalier Shihtzu x called Caroline.
Ann has a couple of cats as well. Ann is a little camera shy – so there’s a picture of her Dakota instead
Madeleine Cedric comes in regularly to wash the dishes and do odd jobs around the kennels. He has a dog called Jet. Jet drags Cedric for a 6km walk every day.
Cedric is an integral part of the smooth running of our kennels.
Madeleine Clinton has finished his VCE and is doing a building apprenticeship.
We didn’t want to lose him so he is continuing to be our backstop when we are very busy and if someone is ill.
Clinton is the team leader on the day that he works. Clinton started with us in 2007 and like his sister Jacinda, has a calm and gentle manner with all the dogs that stay here.
Clinton has 2 Labradors at his home who he takes running with him – Sandy and Ollie (born 08/08/08) hence the name.
Madeleine Denise and Nathan – the mother and son combo. They work on Saturdays.
Denise works in a local veterinary surgery and is currently studying Veterinary Nursing at TAFE.
Denise formerly had a dairy farm with her husband and now live on a farmlet with a range of animals from chooks, goats, cattle and their family dogs and cats.

Before that Jacinta won the prestigious media award "The Simpson Prize" for year 10 students Australia wide. Her prize was a trip to Gallipoli in 2008.
Jacinta's dog is Cutie, a Cavalier x Cocker spaniel. Jacinta has a good memory for all the dogs that stay here and is a great help to us as she has been her since 2006 – a great worker and friend to all of us.
Jacinta has gone to Study Cinema and Theatre Directors Course in NZ. We will miss her dreadfully – but the up-side is that she will be back to help out in the busy times at the school holidays.

Kirah was invited to attend the local business awards – we are really proud to have her as part of our team. She excels in everything she does here and show lots of initiative. Kirah’s family dog is Gypsy.
Madeleine Millie started her in 2007 as a work experience student – from then on Millie has come to work 4 nights a week after school to help put all the dogs back in their rooms and to assist with the meals.
Millie’s dogs are Angus and Maisey (pictured).
Millie is a very keen netballer and is completing her VCE this year.

Madeleine Vanessa has returned from her GAP year in the army and will work at the kennels and cattery as the Person in Charge on the weekends and filling in on weekdays as needed.
Vanessa started here in 1996 as a work experience student – she is a cheerful and wonderful worker – taking great interest in all the dogs and cats here. Vanessa took great care of 2 ferrets that stayed with us.
Vanessa is off to save Turtles in South America later in the year (through Projects Abroad)

Her lovely dog is Cutie (pictured).

Madeleine Xav works here on Mondays and Fridays. Xav’s forté is his gentle manner with all the dogs. Xav does a lot of the maintenance and mowing around the kennels along with his cleaning of the kennels. His dog is Zac and cat is Molly. Xav is a perfectionist and it shows – he is quick with a smile and is an asset to the Nathalia Kennels and Cattery in so many ways.
Xav was one of the big reasons that we won the Environment Award in 2010.
